The VYD TV channel’s intro always scared me as a child. On a black screen with static, a stone head with a frog on it would appear. I also associated it with Yeltsin, who was president at the time. As it turns out, I wasn’t the only one who noticed the resemblance or found it scary! The creators of the channel’s logo were looking for some memorable graphic symbol and ended up choosing the head of a Chinese sage. However, the sage’s ears were a bit too large, so they decided to cut them off in the intro.

P.S. Interestingly, large ears in Indian and Chinese cultures symbolize wisdom.
